Pastor Addie Heard

      Pastor Addie is a native of Jena, Louisiana where she attended Trout Creek Baptist Church. She was baptized at his age of twelve (12), and at age 14 was appointed by her Pastor to teach the youth Sunday school class. This sparked a love for teaching and urgency to seek for something missing in her life. Being an honor student, she was always recommended to fill in the elementary classes for teachers at school.

      In 1977 God lead, the Heard family to unite with Bright Star Church of God In Christ under the leadership of the Late Pastor Wesley Dickson, were she rededicated her life to Christ and received the Baptism of Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Finally, the joy that seem to be missing was fulfilled.

      In 1985 she received her Evangelist licenses under Mother Zella Gosby and worked faithfully in her local church as an Usher, Teacher of Sunday School, Prayer & Bible Band, Trustee Board Member, President of Minister’s and Deacons’ Wives and Women’s Department.

      She served as District President of the Ministers Wives, and Metropolitan Ecclesiastical Jurisdictional(MEJ) President of Superintendents Wives, member of MEJ Women’s Department Executive & Women’s Examining Board and MEJ Bishop’s Advisory Board.

      Pastor Heard was employed for 30 at Watts Labor Community Action Committee (WLCAC), where she served twenty-three (23) years as Director City Ride Transportation. She received multiple Certificates & Awards for Supervision/Management, Business Administration, Department of Transportation Regulations and a Certificate of Award from the Office of the Mayor of Los Angeles for educating and empowering youth in the Los Angeles Community.

      After Retirement she was asked to serve on WLCAC’s Transportation Board by the CEO Timothy Watkins and the State of California. As well as board member of “His Benefits” non-profit organization.

      In November 2010 She experience the great loss of her husband and the love of her life, Supt Odell Heard and Bright Star was left without a Sheppard. With great wisdom, Bishop J. Bernard Hackworth appointed her as Administrative Pastor of Bright Star, where she has served faithfully for eight (8) years and has God kept the flock together in love and unity.

      Pastor Heard’s desire is to see souls saved, delivered and set free. Her goal is to go in the strength of the Lord, keep the faith and one day hear God say” Well done my good and faithful servant”: Because only what you do for Christ will last.

      Because of Pastor & Supt Heard’s faithfulness, all six of her children love God and are workers and supporter of the Ministry. God has blessed her with spiritual sons and daughters in the gospel.
