Bright Star Church Of God In Christ is an organization with 70 years of serving the community of Watts with programs such as: 

• The Literacy Project providing after-school tutoring and reading skills for youth. 
• Annual Summer Vacation Bible School providing evening activities, life lessons and meals to Youth, Teens and Adults for One (1) Week during the summer months. 
• Men & Women of Valor Scholarship program. Bi-Annual, six (6) month program that provides Life skills, educational opportunities entrepreneurial experiences to at-risk youth and awards Scholarship to the participants at the end of the program during a formal ball where they demonstrate they’re social skills. 
• Body & Soul Health & Wellness providing on-going nutritional education and information. 
• Informational meetings and conferences for the community at large through our Business & Professional Women Federation, surrounding the topics of Care giving, Grant writing, Small Business Development, Human Trafficking et.  We are able to provide such service through collaboration with organizations and agencies such as AARP, The Caring Hearts Network, CareMore Health, Mass Mutual Insurance Company, The American Cancer & Diabetes Associations, The Grant Builder, Hotspot Printing, FlyGirlz Coaching Services, Joy Bass Attorney at Law, AA Jones-Moore Insurance & Benefits Consulting and Metropolitan Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Southern California.
